A couple of weeks ago, Lauren demonstrated how to wear a jumpsuit by day. This week Sable shows how to rock one by night:

“An evening jumpsuit is a very of-the-moment alternative to a dress. This one from YSL is super dramatic, so I chose to pair it with simple yet bold, black accessories. High, high heels are key: These suede Christian Louboutin pumps have a double platform that’s great for elongating the legs, so you appearing ultra-tall and slinky rather than looking like the fabric of the jumpsuit swallowed you whole. I added an animal print Alexander McQueen Knuckle-Duster clutch for a pop of pattern, then finished the look with BSABLE bracelets and a long Sable + Zac necklace, and now I’m ready to meet friend for cocktails or even hit a black tie event.” -Sable Banoun, Elyse Walker stylist

All clothes and accessories available in-store at Elyse Walker Pacific Palisades.

Trend Alert: Gone Hiking

Uncategorized

Last season, Azzedine Alaia made hiking boots chic by covering them in crocheted lace and giving them a nearly 6 inch heel. But they didn’t come cheap. (They were upwards of 3K, if we remember correctly.) Now you can cop the trend for less with Jeffrey Campbell’s Everest Hiking Boots (or relive Studio 54 in his glitterific Lita lace-up bootie).  Pair them with cut-off denim shorts now for an edgy downtown look, then rock them into fall with J. Brand’s wax coated leggings and a flowy Alexander Wang top.

Elyse and Sable just returned from NYC where they viewed the Resort 2012 collections, and it was all about bright, bold colors. Even designers such as Alexander Wang who typically stick to minimalistic color palettes were feeling these vibrant, in-your-face shades. If you’ve bought any cobalt pieces for Spring/Summer ’11 be sure to hold on to them, as electric blue will continue to be hot into Fall and Resort. If you want to get a jump on the trend, pick up pieces in tangerine, citrus and hot pink, and be sure to scoop up a colorblocked piece (like the insanely cute Pierre Hardy wedges above) for good measure. Check out our Resort 2012 slideshow after the jump for a sneak peek at what’s to come.

The clouds have parted and June Gloom has finally lifted! So now’s the time to add swingy, sheer, barely-there pieces like this flirty number from Elizabeth and James to your wardrobe. Pair it with feminine flat sandals (like these by Loeffler Randall) by day, then after dark, add a strappy pair of sandals, like Jimmy Choo’s ‘Emery’ cut-out bootie.

It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it. That’s right, it was up to this crew to decide what to serve at Pink Party ’11. Elyse, EJ Milken, Nicole, Sable, Alex Graff-Radford, Marianne Weiman-Nelson, Beth and Hilary all hit up Drai’s Hollywood yesterday to decide what everyone will be grazing on come fall. And while the exact menu is a bit of a secret, we did take a few photos that contain some hints about the fabulous food we have in store for you on September 10th!

Did these pics whet your appetite? Find out how to attend Pink Party ’11 here.
