“Floutility”, a combination of the French word flou, meaning ”blurred”, and utility was the inspiration for Phillip Lim‘s 2013 Resort collection. Lim and his team got together for a short span of 20 days to create this year’s resort line, and came up with a collex that we think will stay in your rotation for many seasons to come. With a floral focus, Lim captured a green theme in almost every piece, while adding graphic lines that resemble city plans and maps to infuse texture. The result is a professional, masculine look that’s softened by girlish touches. Our favorite use of the floral motif has to be his incorporation of it with his animal prints. When looking closely, you’ll see that flowers are arranged as animal prints or vice versa.
