Outfit Inspiration: One Client, Three Looks
It’s always fun to help a client put together a few head-to-toe looks for a new season. Nicole styled Susan in three super-chic outfits that encapsulate many of the big Spring 2012 trends. Take a look:
Bold florals, like this Givenchy orchid and bird of paradise-print dress, are a huge trend this season. Pair a vibrant dress like this one with a bright shoe, like these coral suede and cork Giuseppe Zanotti platform slingbacks. For cool nights, a cropped cardigan is key. This one is Azzedine Alaia.
Blush tones are also popping up everywhere for Spring. Here Nicole paired a pleated Alexander McQueen dress with tone-on-tone jewels from Sable & Zac. She finished the look with McQueen nude platform pumps that elongate Susan’s silhouette, giving her legs for days.
Finally, last Spring’s little white dress gets an update for SS12 with a beachy print and gold hardware. Perfect for sunset cocktails overlooking the beach, this Versace minidress looks chic with accessories in blush and nude tones. The clutch and shoes are both Alexander McQueen.

Versace and Versus Fall 2012 Preview

For her Fall 2012 collection for Versace, Donatella Versace explored a darker side of glamour reminiscent of Gianni Versace’s last collection before his tragic murder. Crosses, studs, and metal hardware adorned structured outwear, cutout dresses, and bold blouses, while hourglass silhouettes gave the edgy pieces a sex appeal à la Rooney Mara.
Putting forth a younger gothic-chic vibe, Versus picked up where big sis Versace left off focusing on graphics and acid tie-dyes. A punk rock fashion movement in North London inspired the razor-slashed and sequined dresses, which were standout pieces for us. On Day One in Paris, Elyse worked a ladylike Nina Ricci dress. She balanced the feminine lace with studded Christian Louboutin flat boots to add a little bit of her signature rock ‘n roll vibe. To combat the cold, she topped the dress with a vintage cropped fur jacket and fingerless gloves. A croc Balenciaga bag big enough to tote all her notes and line sheets finishes the look. Below is a shot of the dress sans jacket. Love the sexy see-through top and cap sleeves!
For the Givenchy show, Elyse wore a dress straight off the Spring 2012 runway, paired with her vintage fur and a neon Nancy Gonzalez clutch.
For the day of the Chloe and Stella McCartney shows, Elyse layered a Stella McCartney dress under a cropped sweater, which she topped with lots of necklaces from The Woods Fine Jewelry and a fur vest. Of course, no look would be complete without a killer bag. The croc Balenciaga made another appearance for these two shows.

It’s our New Year’s resolution to bring you more outfit inspiration from our amazingly ahead-of-the-curve stylists, and though 2012 isn’t quite here yet, there’s no time like the present to get started. This week, Elyse punctuated an all-black look with luxe pops of emerald, which is a nice way to infuse a little bit of holiday cheer while still maintaining an edgy vibe. Here, she paired a shredded Raquel Allegra top with leather Balenciaga pants and YSL boots. Her bold blasts of green come in the form of layered Sable + Zac necklaces and a gorgeous Jil Sander crocodile handbag.
