Just because we’re talking Fall doesn’t mean Missoni is going dark. Juicy citrus and splashy coral shades are the basis for the house’s AW13 updates to its iconic stripe and chevron patterns. So this Fall, forgo getting lost in a sea of deep jewel tones and muted neutrals. Make sure to punch up your wardrobe with Missoni’s vibrant dresses, blouses and swimwear. See what’s on the horizon from Missioni for Fall 2013 in our slideshow below:

Missoni

A woman’s wardrobe isn’t complete until a timeless Missoni design is hanging in the closet. Over the past 60 years, we’ve seen the Italian fashion house create everything from chic beachwear to stunning gowns. But for Pre-Fall 2013, Angela Missoni plays with the menswear trend by throwing coveted coats and tailored slacks into the mix. Standouts among the collex: a houndstooth jacket, black and copper striped cardigan and grey washed coat. And of course, Missoni’s classic print can be found on a few styles of feminine knit dresses. If you can’t wait until Pre-Fall rolls in, you can shop Missoni’s Spring 2013 collex in-store now!

Relaxed, girly silhouettes are complimented by eye-catching sequins, vibrant colors, and zig-zag patterns, making for a fun, lighthearted collection that’ll cause an instant serotonin spike any time you put it on. Scroll through the slideshow below to see what’ll be rolling into the store any day now.

Inspired by Chinese porcelain and British pottery, Missoni introduced fresh, luxurious patterns into the Resort 2013 collection to supplement the iconic chevron they’re known for. Don’t freak, the zigzag pattern is still present, but we also dig the artistic influence Angela Missoni drew upon to create these new ombre pieces and intricate patterns. Missoni’s ability to mix patterns to create pieces that can be effortlessly interchanged for either a dressy or casual look is unparalleled. The ombre pieces are ideal for work, whereas the classic, bright zigzag patterns are perfect for lazy summer weekends on the yacht (or some more realistic variation…maybe a pool float.) One of our personal favorites is the blue blazer Elyse is modeling below simply for its gorgeous detailing. It’s the kind of piece you throw on over jeans and a simple tee, and it totally makes your outfit. Check out more of what we saw at Missoni Resort 2013 in the slideshow below and let us know your favorite pieces in the comments section.

For Missoni’s  Fall 2012 collection, Angela Missoni imagined “a strong girl with a wild side who wants to fuse herself with nature” à la the urban-dwelling tree-climbing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Nature was literally weaved into the designs with patterns inspired by stone, tree bark, and sparkly mica minerals. A beaded orange evening dress gave the illusion of oxidation. A believer in a warm heart, Angela incorporated luxurious furs into outwear and dresses, but she left many collars and trims unfinished reminding us of fur pelts. Utilizing a new technique called needle-punching, knits and lace were incorporated into animal skins to deepen the collection’s opposing themes of nature and city life. A triumphant success, this collection moved Missoni forward while staying true to the label’s signature knits.
